Coreseekers

The Unsanctioned Minds Behind a Golden Age

In the restless workshops beneath the copper skies of Virelya, where steam hisses through brass pipes and lantern light flickers against iron beams, a different kind of faction was born. They called themselves the Coreseekers. Not nobles, not crowned scholars, and not sanctioned by any royal decree, but street scientists, relic hunters, treasure seekers, and restless inventors who believed that knowledge should move like wind through the city and not sit locked inside gilded towers. The Coreseekers were united not by bloodline, but by purpose. They searched for ancient artifacts buried beneath ruined temples, mapped forgotten vaults hidden in mountain spines, and recovered relics scattered across the fractured lands of Colvaron. Their intellect rivaled the finest minds of Velthara, yet they chose a different path. Where Velthara pursued dominance and control, the Coreseekers pursued utility and uplift. Their science was not forged for conquest, but for progress. Every blueprint they drafted and every mechanism they assembled was meant to ease labor, strengthen communities, and push their homeland toward a brighter horizon. Virelya’s rapid ascent into a steampunk marvel is inseparable from their legacy. In less than a decade, the city transformed from a promising industrial capital into a skyline of airships, floating vehicles, autonomous constructs, and advanced mechanical armaments. Air balloons drifted between crystal towers. Early flying carriages cut through mist above the streets. Steam driven automatons assisted workers in factories and ports. Even complex weapon systems designed for defense bore the distinct craftsmanship of the Coreseekers. What outsiders saw as sudden progress was, in truth, the tireless collaboration of independent minds who refused to wait for permission to innovate.

Coreseekers

Though Virelya became their strongest base, the Coreseekers were never confined to it. They traveled across all regions of Colvaron, venturing into Arranya’s overgrown ruins, bargaining for manuscripts in Elianthe’s marble halls, studying ancient cosmology in Purana, and scavenging frost bound relics in Ullvaris. The faction welcomed any wandering scholar or mechanic who shared their vision. Many were not born in Virelya at all. They were displaced prodigies, self taught engineers, and rogue archivists who found in the Coreseekers a rare sense of belonging. Velthara’s technological supremacy is often praised as unmatched, and in sheer modern refinement it may indeed surpass Virelya. Yet history tells a quieter truth. The foundational frameworks of Velthara’s current advancements trace back to blueprints first drafted by Coreseeker hands. Designs that once powered Virelya’s ten year miracle became the scaffolding for Velthara’s next evolution. Modified, enhanced, and repurposed, those stolen concepts formed the backbone of Velthara’s rise. In blunt terms, Velthara built its empire upon the innovation it appropriated.

Thus, the brilliance attributed to Velthara today is younger than many believe. Its cutting edge marvels only emerged years after Virelya’s revolution, and they stand on foundations laid by the Coreseekers. The difference lies not only in technological ambition, but in philosophy. One faction advances to rule. The other advances to serve. And so the Coreseekers continue their quiet journey. Not rulers, not conquerors, but the unseen engine of progress that turned a city of steam into the beating mechanical heart of Colvaron.
