Purana of the Tides

Sanctum of Living Stone and Sacred Devotion Purana rises from the sea as a scattered chain of sacred islands, the second smallest region in Colvaron after Arranya, yet immense in spiritual gravity. Resting close to Arranya’s emerald wilderness, its magic carries a similar organic pulse, rooted in soil, tide, and ancient breath. Where some kingdoms build upward and others accelerate forward, Purana turns inward. It measures strength not in monument or machinery, but in balance. Tiered temples crown its hills, rice fields ripple beneath golden light, and incense lingers in courtyards where prayer predates dynasties. Among its most ancient guardians stand the Batu Komoudo, colossal Stone Komoudo formed of living rock and threaded with vines. Their amber eyes awaken only when spiritual equilibrium trembles. They do not hunt nor conquer. They rise only to correct imbalance, bound to Purana long before the first royal lineage took form.

Purana Tides

On the island of Jannavadi thrives the Village of Dancers, where movement is scripture and discipline begins in childhood. Each gesture reflects cosmic order, every turn of the wrist echoing constellations unseen by most of Colvaron. At the heart of Jannavadi dwells the Serpent Woman, luminous and benevolent, her emerald coils resting against temple stone warmed by dusk. She is not feared but cherished, guiding the people with quiet wisdom and teaching that power must remain compassionate to remain pure.

Purana Tides On the island of Mulebali, devotion takes a different form. Here the sacred Rupa Barong is awakened during festivals of saffron dusk. The red guardian, crowned in gold and framed by a flowing white mane, embodies protection against unseen chaos. Two exotic dancers move in precise harmony before the Barong, their steps fierce yet elegant, invoking the island’s protective spirit through thunderous drums and swirling petals. It is not spectacle but renewal, a reaffirmation that balance must be defended as fiercely as it is celebrated. Yet the rhythm of Purana weakens. As the Octastar power fades across Colvaron, the Stone Komoudo stir less often, and sacred performances feel heavier with unspoken absence. Rather than deepen devotion, the Royal Court turns outward, forging alliance with Velthara of Albeyra along the border between Ullvaris and Purana. Steel constructs rise near sacred groves in exchange for military endurance and engineered strength. The king speaks of protection and necessity, yet his broader agenda remains unclear to the people. Purana still glows beneath golden sun and drifting incense, but uncertainty hums beneath its beauty. If guardians sleep without waking and sacred dances become mere ceremony, the archipelago will not fall by conquest. It will fade through neglect of its own sacred heartbeat.
